Graduate Student Grant Opportunity:
Graduate Student Scholarly and Creative Activity Grants - Applications are now being accepted for Graduate Student Scholarly and Creative Activity Grants for the Fall 2008 semester. Graduate students in good standing may now submit applications for independent projects, conference travel or research required for degree completion. Grants of up to $1,000 may be given. Guidelines and application forms are available online at https://nautical.uwf.edu/org/disporg.cfm?orgunitid=CREATE. The application deadline is October 10, 2008 at 5:00 p.m. Proposals received after the deadline will be ineligible to compete for an award. If an applicant’s project requires human or animal participants, approval is required by the Institutional Review Board (IRB) for the Protection of Human Research Participants or by the Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC). The IRB or IACUC must give their approval to the project before the grant selection date of Oct. 24. This approval process may take several weeks, so applicants should begin the process early.
